Bio-technological Recycling Technologies

Bio-technological Recycling Technologies have been investigating the low cost and rapid recovery of a sub-set of Strategically Important Materials (SIMs) from post-consumer products. For example, the use of metal ion-reducing microorganisms in the recovery of precious metals from leachates of printed circuit boards, and the utilization of microorganisms as an adsorbent for the selective separation and concentration of indium from leachates of liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
